Ed Gogek

Dr. Ed Gogek grew up in Decatur, a city in central Illinois, and completed his undergraduate work plus all of medical school at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Chicago, and Rockford. He began his psychiatry residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine where he became interested in working with substance abusers.

After a one-year fellowship in addiction medicine at Brown University in Rhode Island, Dr. Gogek finished his residency training at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He has written several dozen op-eds on addiction and mental health that were printed in major American and
Canadian newspapers and he is the author of a book on marijuana.
