Prashant Sharma, DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist at the Litchfield Park and San Tan Valley, Arizona, offices of 2nd Chance Treatment Center. Dr. Sharma specializes in mood and anxiety disorders. 

Dr. Sharma graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. He completed a general medicine internship and went on to serve in the military as a physician. He became interested in Psychiatry and Mental Health while working as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force. During this time, he realized the importance of treating the mental health aspect of each patient and found himself gravitating towards seeing those patients.

Following his military service, Dr. Sharma completed a residency in Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He initially worked as an inpatient psychiatrist in Baltimore and transitioned to outpatient psychiatry and telemedicine. 

Over the years, Dr. Sharma has received many honors for his work, including earning the Air Medal & Air Force Commendation Medal while in the military for his work as a physician and flight surgeon, as well as the Frank L. Coulson, Jr. award for clinical excellence for his work while in Psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins. 

Dr. Sharma finds his work in psychiatry very fulfilling, as he is passionate about improving the mental well-being of patients' lives through the use of medications and the right lifestyle and behavioral changes. In his spare time, he enjoys doing photography, hiking, and has his own podcast as well.
